Bloggers Block

Hey everyone, did you thinkI was on vacation? All I can attribute my lack of writting to is Bloggers Block. I would make up some huge excuse about being busy and time issues but that is just what it would be, an excuse. Needless to say, a lot has happened since the last posting. The 4th of July has come and gone, the flooding rains have ceased and we are now grumbling about having to water our lawns again, the cooler weather that the rains brought has changed to full fledge SUMMER, and best for last the "Sno-Cone" Stand is in full swing. Gracie has been treated to her first summer right of passage and that is the Rainbow Snowcone. She does not quite know what to do with the cold part but she loves the flavor. She pretty much eats all "human" food now with the occassional jar of Baby Food as we empty out the pantry and they are a little easier at lunch. It is hard to believe that we have been home only two months. I do not remember what life was like before she got here. We have fallen so deeply and completely in love with this little person. Deena and Aunt Tabbie are teaching Gracie sign. She can now tell us "more, that she is full, thank you, please and I Love You". She is great at blowing kisses, and as you can see from the pictures above loves to play peep-eye. She took her first Pony Ride at her Auny Lisa's house on the 4th and was more than able to stay in the saddle. We have discovered that breakfast is not her favorite meal of the day ( takes after her Mom) and from all indicators she will be saying her brother Matt's name first. It is quite sight to see when you walk into our kitchen and she is surrounded by all three of our Lab's as she drops Cheerios one by one into their mouths. This I can only assume as her gentle servants nature and willingness to share. She loves to play on the floor and to date has not been stepped on by dog or human, Praise God for that. Deena says she is just going to begin walking and skip crawling as she shows little or no interest in doing it. We are making arrangements for the big number 1 Birthday that comes up on August 1st. Deena's is the 6th so I think we will celebrate at least for the early years these dates together. Since being home we think she has met most of the family and close friends on both sides. One of the big highlights of the day is bathtime. She absolutely loves bathtime and I do have to admit the toys are a lot cooler than what we had growing up. She loves music and this was noted her adoption paperwork notes from the orphanage. She loves to sing in Church and every now and then she will shout out an "Amen Preacher" (or at least thats what we think she is saying). Imagine a Chinese Southern Baptist in a Bible Church and thats her. Well I promise I will update more often and oh yea, by the way if you just so happen to ask her "How much do you love Grandma", she will spread her arms as far as they will go and grin from ear to ear.
